COMMUNITY MINISTRY is collecting gently used books for the students at McClernand School. We will be collecting these books during the month of May. Please place your donations in the boxes located in our fellowship hall area. These books should be for children ages 5-12. Spring garage sales are a wonderful way to find books to donate. Your donations will certainly be appreciated.

CHURCH WORKDAY is on May 18th. Work starts at 8 AM and concludes at 12 PM. A sign-up sheet is located in the fellowship hall.

Attention All Golfers:

The 10th Annual ELCA Golf Outing is right around the corner. Everyone who participated last year really had a wonderful time at the beautiful Rail Golf Course. Grace’s objective in initiating these golf outings was to create one fellowship activity that would help unite the 5 local ELCA churches – Mission accomplished! But there are many aspects to planning this type of event, such as recruiting prize sponsors, registration, contract negotiations, etc., so if you could contact me if you would be willing to assist in any capacity, I would greatly appreciate it. Specifically if you are willing to assist with prize sponsorship, please provide that information in the designated area on the registration form, and someone from our committee will be in touch.

Grace’s Fellowship Committee determined that it would be far less chaotic the day of the outing if registration forms and fees were received prior to the date of the outing. I am sending this letter and a registration form to every golfer who participated in last year’s outing. I will also submit copies to be posted in your individual Fellowship Halls. Last year several spouses joined their golfing husbands or wives for supper and fellowship following the outing, strengthening relationships with members from their own congregations, and building new ones with members of other ELCA congregations.

Let’s work together to help assure the growth of this event! Registration form is in the Fellowship Hall.

LADIES PLEASE PLAN TO ATTEND THE SPRING MEETING OF THE WOMEN OF THE WEST CENTRAL CONFERENCE OF THE ELCA - this will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2013 at Historic Grace Lutheran Church from 9 a.m. till after the 11:45 a.m. lunch. During the morning, after devotions, Catherine Frazee Lindsay, as portrayed by Sharon L. Miner, will share memories and letters of her courtship with Dr. Lindsay. Physical offering will non perishable items for Grace Food Pantry and the monetary offering will also be shared with the Grace Food Pantry. In order to make food arrangements, please have all registrations in by Monday, May 6th. Registration forms are in Fellowship Hall.
